Job Description

Position Summary:

The QCTO Accreditation Specialist is responsible for all accreditation, learner registration, moderation and certification matters linked to all accredited programmes registered with the QCTO. This is primarily focused on four process areas. First, all matters relating to the application for occupational or part qualifications accreditation. Second, all matters relating to learner registration with the appropriate authorities. Third, matters related to the appropriate delivery of an accredited programme support and advice on assessment and programme tracking against requirements. Fourth, internal and external moderation, including the management of certification data and the execution of cohort/learner exits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process 1- Application for accreditation of occupational qualifications
  • Maintain all compliance requirements
  • Maintain a professional relationship with QCTO and other stakeholders
  • Process 2 Learner Registration and Onboarding
    • Under the supervision of the Registrar, take responsibility for the registration of learners to ensure full compliance
    • Advises delivery teams on all the documents required for learner registration
    • Completes all relevant SETA (online or hard copy) submissions required to register learners within agreed timelines.
    • Registers learners as required by the QCTO
  • Process 3 Programme Delivery Linked to Accreditation Requirements
    • Under the supervision of the Academic Director, quality assure learning delivery and assessments to maintain delivery quality standards
    • Advises and supports delivery team on all matters/policies important for accreditation during delivery, including, but not limited to:
      • Overall tracking and recording best practices POE completion, attendance registers, required signatures on key documents
      • Assessment best practices management of assessors and appropriate checks that assessment steps have been taken
    • Manages process for interim checks during delivery including, when appropriate, mid-point internal moderation
  • Process 4 Moderation, Verification and Certification Associated with the Exit of Learners
    • Under the supervision of the Academic Director, co-ordinate the moderation and certification processes to ensure full compliance and data integrity
    • Work with the QCTO accredited Assessment Centres to ensure compliance with all summative assessment requirements
    • Interaction with delivery team to check and consolidate all required documentation
    • End to end management of internal moderation process linked to agreed timelines
    • End to end management of external moderation process linked to agreed timelines
    • End to end management of the certification process

Requirements

Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Models Duke CE core values in all interactions
  • Strong DHET/QCTO/SETA knowledge
  • Knowledge of QCTO processes
  • Detailed understanding of the accredited programme and associated accrediting authorities (DHET, QCTO, programme SETA, client SETA)
  • Able to establish strong professional and personal credibility with stakeholders, clients, and students
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
  • Strong analytical and report generation skills using and manipulating Excel and other data to reporting
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to master administrative tasks
  • Ability to operate in a professional office environment

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Undergraduate degree in Quality Management or relevant field.
  • Min 2+ years’ experience in a quality assurance role working with SETAs and the QCTO including responsibility for programme accreditations and learner administration
  • Accredited Assessor and Moderator
  • Own vehicle and driver’s license


Role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg and work is conducted from the office. this is not a remote working role.
