Job Description
To support the implementation of a significant Firmwide Finance Transformation Program Dentons is currently recruiting an Interim Global Finance BI/Data Analyst. This position will support the integration of data into Thomson Reuters Elite Data Insights (EDI), document test scenarios and help train Dentons employees to understand the benefit of the solution and how best to implement it.
The business rolled out Thomson Reuters Elite Data Insights (EDI) as an early deliverable element of the Global Finance Transformation program. EDI currently services 5 core regions, however, the firm has a strategic plan to increase this to many more of its regions by incorporating data from various systems. This role will be responsible for working with the EDI team to support the data mapping, integration, validation and transformation to enable the creation of Power BI reports and dashboards as required.
The BI/Data Analyst will be responsible for cataloguing the end-to-end processes, documenting use case scenarios, supporting the development of training materials and the completion of hand over materials.
The Finance Transformation Program is a truly global program designed to transform Dentons' Finance function into the business partnering function of the future. It will support the business by offering true business insight, efficient and effective processes while maintaining the necessary compliance and controls.

Key Deliverables
- Responsible for gathering and documenting the reporting and data requirements for the respective business areas
- Ensuring solutions meet the requirements and needs of the business
- Functional amp; Non-functional requirement specifications
- Change request specifications
- Risk, issue amp; decision entries on the central log
- ETL mapping documents; source systems to BI layer amp; data marts to cubes
- Use case scenarios amp; test scripts for functional amp; user testing
- Ensure that business requirements are adequately met through innovative IT offerings
- Documentation of;
Enhancement of the business/technical data dictionaries
Key Responsibilities
- Understand amp; explain the central business financial requirements amp; the impact of missing data
- Understand the data integrity, quality amp; completeness needs, amp; be able to assess data provided for these
- Understand how reports will support critical financial processes amp; management information initiatives
- Capture the individual requirements from different regions amp; facilitate a global agreement regarding design amp; content
- Support the definition of the reporting suite (transactional, operation, compliance, amp; management information reporting)
- Ensure the reporting solutions align to the Dentons policies/guidelines for user access rights and security
Essential Qualifications / Experience
- Data analysis SQL (strong)
- ETL/BI layer analysis (strong)
- Financial processes for a professional services firm (strong)
- Working on international projects
- Standard business analyst skills (excellent)
- Ability to extract mappings from code (desirable)
- Legal particularly working on PMS implementations (desirable)
