Purpose
This role is for a Software Python Developer position working on communication channels. Someone who is interested in building enterprise-grade applications in cloud based environments, used by millions of people. You will be joining an agile team of developers who are passionate about the products they build. We enable our clients to transact and engage with their customers seamlessly (on a global scale via channels like WhatsApp, Apple Messaging for Business, Google RCS, etc). Clickatell is looking for talented and ambitious software developers that are passionate about instilling strong technical capabilities within the team.

Things Responsibilities of the Role
o Collaborate with an awesome geographically distributed team of engineers and product designers to implement the next generation of products and/or features
o Work independently, focusing on: o projects that involve developing applications from scratch
o building applications that can scale (millions of transactions/requests per day)
o Correctly developing software iteratively and deliver working code each iteration, including authoring relevant documentation and test cases
o Success is measured by your achievements in the areas of:
o Software development design and code quality o Scalability of the delivered solutions
o Scalability of the delivered solutions
o Documentation that includes use cases, user stories, architectural and sequence
diagrams, etc.
o Adoption of test-driven development include unit and system test harnesses, aligned with the need of the QA teams
o Participation architecture, design recommendations and implementations discussions
o Adherence to policies and standards as required by DevOps and the prevailing departments standards and needs
o Provide scheduled standby/on-call support of production software

Requirements of the Role
o Computer Science degree from a reputable school (4+ years’ experience if no degree)
o Work Experience o Experienced senior software developer with telecommunications and/or chat channels background
o Developing secure, scalable systems utilising service-oriented design
o Proven experience working with local and remote teams across time zones
o Proven capability in leading technical design sessions, coaching and mentoring other less experiences technologists
o Proficient Knowledge and Ability
o Development methodologies, build mechanisms and pipelines
o Low level OS or networking workings relevant to application design and development
o In-Depth Knowledge and Ability
o High-volume, transactional/low latency solutions
o Multi-tiered, multi-threaded Python applications with a focus on high transaction/low latency communication tier
o API design, and integration with customer- and third-party services
o Excellent technical troubleshooting
