Marketing Assistant - South Africa

Location: Remote
Hourly Salary: $6.10
Contract: 37.5 hrs

You’ll be responsible for helping to maintain and develop Twinkl’s thriving online community for South Africa. Your time will be spent working on creating content for our social media platforms, outreach, coming up with innovative ideas and new ways to engage with and grow these communities, and reaching people beyond them. You’ll be able to use your creativity to create innovative, engaging content to showcase our current Twinkl resources and products in inspirational ways to our followers.

Who are we looking for?

A hustler! Someone who can pull rabbits out of hats and is execution focused. A creative thinker, clever and witty - a natural marketeer who can spot and execute opportunities each day and who can lead and motivate those within their team to do the same. Whether this be through day-to-day activities, or leading on larger campaigns, we’re looking for a candidate who can deliver each time.

Your weekly activity could include:

  • Outreaching to other groups, influencers and partnerships
  • Developing innovative ideas for marketing campaigns and projects
  • Developing new ways to engage and grow different social media platforms
  • Creating original social media content - engagement posts, assets, creative visuals, user gen, videos, blogs, newsletters etc
  • Developing new channels to market
  • Supporting others with their innovative ideas
  • Spotting trends within the South African market and beyond, and being able to respond/ pivot quickly to make the most of these trends.
  • Interacting with customers on social media platforms, being the voice of Twinkl South Africa and offering advice and support where needed
  • Building up the social media channels and increasing our following
  • Copywriting for social media feed posts
  • Scheduling content for publishing
  • Gathering insights from our community to share with your team

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be able to spot and execute opportunities consistently - each and every day
  • Be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team.
  • Have excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Be passionate about using social media to create strong and supportive communities.
  • Be able to work under own initiative with minimum supervision but also as part of a team
  • Be organised and adaptive, able to work to tight deadlines and manage your time effectively.
  • Be able to work collaboratively

Requirements

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • You have a great working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/InDesign.
  • You have a good understanding of how to edit videos, to be on trend with the world.
  • You have experience in marketing or running your own social media accounts.
  • You have previous experience running social media channels for a small business.
  • Willing to be flexible around working times. Being able to work half your working week during weekends and evenings. Hours can be agreed upon between you and your line manager to work office hours.
  • Is fluent in English as well as one other South African language.
