IGS Africa is seeking to continue it’s growth in serving the sub-Sahara African region through the addition of a seasoned Sales Management professional.

Position Summary:

Sales Managers' primary responsibility is to sell an organization’s services and products, perpetually finding unique ways to engage and increase audience size and clients. The Sales Manager might be responsible for managing clients at a local, regional or national level, or he/she may be allocated a particular section of the market or client base. Every Sales Manager job description should focus on the importance of excellent communication and presentation skills, self-motivation and professionalism. The Sales Manager is expected to act as the captain of the sales team, taking on both selling to specific customer personally, while also coaching and supporting the rest of the Sales team perform at the highest level. Lastly, the Sales Manager is expected to be a strategic partner to the Business Unit Leader (General Manager, IGS Africa).

Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintaining client relations
  • Work with internal departments such as the Marketing or Product teams to engage audiences and clients more deeply
  • Meet and exceed KPIs and sales targets for self and the sales team.
  • Possess deep knowledge of business product offering and value proposition
  • Follow organizational policies and regulations that affect the Sales department
  • Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities
  • Solve problems for clients and customers by developing innovative and tailored sales solutions
  • Be a brand ambassador and reflect company values at all times

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):

  • Qualified leads created and nurtured
  • Quoted and closed revenue.
  • As quoted gross margin.
  • Conversion / Win Rate.
  • New high value accounts created.
  • Growth of wallet share with existing customers.


Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree. An undergraduate degree in Engineering with a graduate degree in business administration or marketing is preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and sales management, preferably in industrial / technical sales
  • Proven track record of success the sales cycle from plan to close
  • Proven track record of managing teams to increase profitable revenues
  • Proven track record of identifying, developing, and closing business in new markets / with new customers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Willing to travel within South Africa frequently, and limited travel internationally
  • Track record of developing and executing on strategic sales plans
  • Familiarity and competence with pipeline management using CRM (Salesforce preferred).
