Job Description

Dentons is currently recruiting an Interim Global Finance Transformation Environments Project Manager to support the delivery of a significant Global Finance Transformation (GFT) Program. This position will have a dual reporting line to the Global Implementation Technical Project Manager and to the Global Architecture amp; Design Platform Services Lead. The role will also interface with key stakeholders in the (GFT) Program team, in particular the GFT Implementation and Technical Delivery Team. The role will also interface regularly with the Regional Finance Transformation Project teams to ensure that Global and Regional Implementation objectives remain aligned.

The key objective of the role is to provide planning and management for the successful delivery of the GFT program; within agreed budget and program implementation timeframes.

As the Interim Global Finance Transformation Environments Project Manager, you will drive the various Technical teams to deliver to agreed timelines and work with team leads to resolve impediments in achieving that goal. You will focus on the key deliverables and milestones as documented in project scope and planning documentation to ensure the project stays on track. Your primary responsibility will be working with the Global Architecture amp; Design Platform Services Lead and Global Implementation Technical Project Manager to deliver to a program plan that delivers the overall solution within agreed timelines and additionally keeping the GFT Program Leadership appraised of any foreseeable risks and issues that might arise.

Overall key Responsibilities
  • Plans and schedules project timelines.
  • Management of sprints in accordance with the DevOps framework, ensuring all ceremonies are in place and effective for collaborative global ways of working.
  • Coordinates project resources.
  • Assures the quality of projects.
  • Meets budgetary, timeline and scope objectives by managing the technical team’s deliverables to ensure they are delivered on time and to acceptable quality.
  • Project reporting; both from a sprint perspective and wider overall programme level view
  • Tracks project performance.
  • Works with program leads to maintain project management collateral e.g., Project Plans, RAID Logs
  • Facilitate meetings and workshop as required to meet delivery milestones
  • Develop/maintain the environments streams’ implementation plans and ensure alignment with global program plan
  • Track progress against plan, ensuring that the environments team provide timely updates to enable actionable status reporting to the Global Program Steering Committee
  • Track and manage RAIDs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions) and reporting these to the right level for escalations and visibility
  • Advise Global Implementation Technical Project Manager and Global PMO on all activities on the critical path for implementation (i.e. in the environments plan), including resources required for specific activities
  • Provide team members task visibility using look ahead reports / in flight tasks and delayed tasks ensuring tight plan management
  • Working with and coaching the team members around DevOps Project Delivery methodology to maximise program success.
  • Assisting the Global Architecture amp; Design Platform Services Lead and Global Implementation Technical Project Manager in managing the Stage Gated approach to delivery within the Environments stream
  • Support the definition and agreement of the scope of the global solution with Regional Leadership and the Global Finance Design Authorities
  • Drive development of the regional environments plan and act as support to the regionally-appointed Technical / Integrations Manager
  • Collaborate with the Global Architecture amp; Design Platform Services Lead and global technical teams to ensure that the regional technical solution is aligned to global standards
  • Drive regional technical development in line with plan
  • Drive development of the environments approach and support the regionally-appointed Environments Managers to do likewise
  • Work with the appropriate team leads to support development of the business and technical support models in order to ensure they are in place for cutover and tested during cutover dress rehearsals
  • Work with the Global Implementation Technical Project Manager, Global Architecture amp; Design Platform Services Lead and Global PMO to manage and execute the various Stage Gate ceremonies
  • Ensure the appropriate collateral is produced to evidence achievement of various stage gate criteria
    • Financial experience within a comparable professional services or management consulting environment, including familiarity with Swiss Verein or similar legal operating models
    • Recognised project management experience including in-depth understanding of data analysis, financial planning and process improvement. Six Sigma or equivalent qualifications helpful

About You

Business international level of English both written and oral;

Experience in systems, including: Azure DevOps, TRE 3E, Intapp Time, Chrome River, E-Billing;

  • Significant experience and a proven track record in/as:
    • Proven experience in delivery of enterprise-wide programs in complex organizations
  • Demonstrable understanding of working within program governance frameworks and to documented delivery principles
  • Demonstrable experience of working within an DevOps delivery framework, E2E, with strong knowledge of Scrum/Agile frameworks.
  • Strong background/knowledge of finance and technology
  • Strong stakeholder management, across both business and technology
  • Experience applying and delivering technical projects
  • Experience delivering in an Agile environment
  • You will possess:
    • Excellent communications, influencing, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Experience in using MS Office suite, including MS Teams
  • Experience in using Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Be versed in working across cultures and time-zones;
  • Be adept in flexing your approach in response to challenges and issues as they arise;
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view
  • Be able to thrive working under pressure, and be able to multi-task;
  • Extensive experience of working with layers of engagement and approval;
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work with a wide variety of people and projects in a collective and collaborative manner.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

  • Post-secondary education with a specialization in Information Technology.
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive experience with IT Projects across a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Experience of working on international projects
  • Experience of working in a legal / professional services firm
  • Management of at least two full end to end project implementations
  • Agile / DevOps / Scrum (desirable)
