Job Description

Euromonitor International seeks a Research Associate or a Research Analyst (RA) to join its Food and Drinks research team in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to start a career (RAssoc) or further a career in market research (RA). The Associate or Analyst role is a demanding one where you will be responsible for specific output across the various industries covered within the Food and Drinks research clusters (including Soft Drinks, Hot Drinks, Alcoholic Drinks, Tobacco, Health amp; Wellness, etc.) with a particular focus on the Sub-Saharan region.

An Associate or Analyst will be required to work both within the team and on their own to update and develop sections of new and existing data sets and content for the FMCG industries covered by the Food and Drinks team. The Associate/Analyst will be expected to build and maintain research contacts and develop expertise in the region.

In addition, the role requires supporting sales and consulting, acting as a client contact and producing content showcasing thought leadership.

  • The ability to work independently and under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Strong time management skills
  • Any eye for detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Motivated self-starter
  • Relevant university qualification in market research/economics or business-related discipline is preferred, although other university qualifications will also be considered
  • Native-like professional proficiency of both written and spoken English
  • A confident manner with strong communication skills
  • The successful applicant will demonstrate a keen interest in, and knowledge of, consumer trends in the relevant Sub-Saharan African markets
  • Relevant research experience is a requirement to join as an analyst
  • The right to work in South Africa is unfortunately non-negotiable
