We are a thriving collection of highly skilled finance professionals based in London, Manchester, Bristol and Cambridge in the UK, and Cape Town in South Africa. We are blazing a trail, providing bespoke lending solutions to high-growth, innovative and disruptive SMEs through growth loans, term loans and working capital facilities.This position presents a fantastic opportunity for a skilled accountant to join our well-established finance team. Our UK-based CFO needs to add a CA-qualified (or equivalent) accountant to our Cape Town-based finance team, to work on a number of group-wide processes.
Responsibilities will include the monthly consolidation of group financials, intercompany recharges, managing our external supplier relationships and owning AP and accounts procedures. As well as tackling a plethora of ad hoc tasks, to keep everything interesting you will have a particular remit to achieve automation whenever and wherever possible.
We need someone to take on a number of responsibilities from our CFO (UK-based) and our financial controller, who sits in Cape Town alongside the rest of the team. Once you have successfully automated as many of your initial responsibilities as possible, you will move on to standardising the automation of the work of our more junior colleagues. As you become established in the role, you will have the opportunity to turn your attention towards the interface between the team and fundraising, Mamp;A, budgets and treasury, just as a start.
You will bring a perfect balance of procedural rigour and commercial acumen. You will know how to achieve both accuracy and expediency. Not only do we want you to be able to save the organisation time, but we also want to focus on what more we can do with the time you’ve saved.
You must be able to show your understanding of a business and its drivers in a way that surpasses the numbers. Truly advanced Excel skills are a must for this role, and we will also appreciate knowledge of both Xero and Salesforce, tools that play an important role in our organisation overall.
