Job Description

The Role

We’re looking for a talented operations engineer to join us who can use their experience in cloud platforms to strengthen the newly formed operations function. At Fuse we are in a period of growth and looking to find the best candidates who can help us innovate and drive customer experience forward.

What You’ll Do

  • You will collaborate closely with others in cross-functional teams to provide third line support and deliver projects to both internal and external customers via the customer support team.
  • You will work with developers and platform engineers to deliver day-to-day smooth operation and maintenance of the technology infrastructure systems and software.
  • You will liaise with third party suppliers to enable commitments to be met on services or project integrations as well as to resolve platform issues. Ensuring learning’s are taken and improvements made to eliminate the issue on an ongoing basis where possible
  • Proactively monitor systems and applications and provide input to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the platform.
  • You will provide technical health-checks and efficiency reviews for client facing platforms.
  • You will build and provide both platform and progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • In line with the role there is a requirement for incident response on an on-call rota basis outside normal business work hours and on the weekends.
  • You will input into solution design authority, for direction of new products being produced.

Requirements

  • It is important that you have previous experience of working in a technical operations role or similar, maintaining ‘Business as Usual’ via a proactive and reactive service.
  • You have good interpersonal skills and telephone manner due to close collaboration with internal teams and customers.
  • Your Personal attributes should include a can do attitude combined with flexibility, whilst being task oriented and committed, ensuring agreed targets and SLAs are met.
  • You are a fast learner who enjoys stepping out of their comfort zone to develop new skills.
  • You are collaborative and can bring your ideas to the table, while still taking in the ideas of others.
  • You are proactive and take ownership of analysing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for difficult problems with strong multi-tasking skills.
  • You will need hands on working Knowledge of:
    • Amazon Web Services (Virtual Machines, ECS, Loadbalancers, Aurora DB, Elastic Search, REDIS)
    • RHEL/Ubuntu Linux Administration
    • Support Desk Systems (Jira SD preferred)
    • Error, event and alert handling (DataDog / Airbrake)
    • Networking concepts including: DNS, HTTP, TCP, UDP
  • You have experience in coordinating, planning, and executing platform-wide changes within a change management framework.
  • You must be fluent in English (both verbal and written.)
