Further information at: https://www.didiglobal.com/ The RoleWe are currently looking for a self-driven legal head in South Africa who has a passion for TMT industry.Responsibilities: •Reporting to HQ Legal Director heading global business operation and expansion.•Provide legal guidance, coordinate and work closely with cross-region and cross-function stakeholders throughout the company (country and headquarter teams) - from product, marketing, finance, HR, to Ops, PR and government affairs - on all matters that affect the company in the region, with an eye towards how they impact the company globally.•Advise on regional legal, regulatory and compliance matters concerning all products and business, while maintaining priorities of cross-regional and global matters assigned by HQ.•Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, internal reports and policies, regulatory filings, etc. and manage outside counsel on any matters requiring domain expertise.Who we’re looking for:•Must have a law degree (LLB or equivalent) from an accredited, well-recognized university, and be a current registered practising attorney in South Africa; •8+ years’ first tier local or international law firm experience, or in-house experience in leading tech/internet companies, with strong background in TMT and regulatory matters;•Solid regulatory advisory background and overall broad legal knowledge covering corporate law, commercial transactions, labor/employment law, data privacy, etc. Any litigation experience would be valued;•Proven track records of taking initiative and ownership of matters and being results driven with good sense of how to balance business needs with compliance and risk control;•Ability to proactively anticipate issues or risks in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, and to build the processes and systems to mitigate such risks; •Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to internal clients;•Good interpersonal and communication skills;•Fluent in English (verbal and drafting), any Mandarin or other language ability would be a plus but not required.
