Job Summary

The Senior Network Administrator is to provide specialist input to frame and maintain the required architecture/systems and the execution of network administration functions. Is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the network. Additional role requirements include planning, development and troubleshooting. The candidate needs to be technically very sound in understanding business processes and requirements. Candidate should be hands-on in the administration of networks.

Job Description

• Configuration and support of network equipment.
• Design of the network and customer specific solutions.
• Network Security definition and design.
• Firewall Configuration and support.
• Load balancer/Layer Switch configuration and support.
• Network monitoring and monitoring on Network Security & utilization, System utilization & Back up Utilization.
• DNS, DHCP configuration and support.
• VPN, Radius/Tacacs configuration and maintenance.
• Develop and conduct proactive maintenance activities designed to ensure optimal operation of the network.
• Provide leadership during major network incidents and ensure that service is restored as quickly as possible, escalating when required, ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date on networks status.
• Ensure that all aspects of the network are thoroughly documented, and ensure all these documents and network diagrams are always up-to-date and accessible to all relevant staff.
• Perform day-to-day systems administration in conjunction with other Systems Administration Staff and Technical staff.
• Provide Network hardware purchasing recommendations.
• Report on deployed systems performance/scaling to technical management and group.
• Assist the Infrastructure Manager Or other System Administrators when requested.

• Minimum 6 Years network Management experience/knowledge of the following areas:
• Cisco and other vendor routers and switches configuration & management;
• LAN and WAN Routing of IP Including HSRP, OSPF, & BGP.
• Expertise on Voip implementation and Management.
• Expertise on Core Switch Stack, Edge and access switches.
• Hands on experience in Management of firmware and OS of network equipments
• Expertise on various Lan and WAN architectures.
• Experience with PIX / ASA/ Fortigate Firewalls and associated technologies.
• To be able to work efficiently in pressure situation and after hours as required.
• Industry certificates (CCNA, CCNP) are essential.
• Proven hands-on network engineering experience
• CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued)
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
• University degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
