Hire Resolve is currently representing a leading sugar manufacturing company based in Durban who is in search of a skilled Maintenance Foreman to join their team.
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Foreman include:
- Planning and executing maintenance tasks and projects to ensure the efficient operation of the sugar manufacturing facility.
- Managing the maintenance team and providing guidance and support to team members.
- Conducting regular inspections, diagnosing equipment issues, and implementing necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Working closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and minimize breakdowns.
- Managing inventory and ordering spare parts and equipment as needed.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and preparing reports as required.
- Training and mentoring maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation).
- Proven experience working as a Maintenance Foreman in a sugar manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of sugar manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Computer literate with proficiency in maintenance management software.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
