Testimonials of team member:
I've been with Stronglifts since 2015, nearly 10 years! Initially, I came on the team to bring the Android app design up to date (the first iteration of Google's Material Design). Over the years I've enjoyed the great creative control I've been given over our iOS and Android apps, and in the process I have accumulated a lot of knowledge and know-how.
Stronglifts is a tight knit team, which enables quick communication, feedback, and the ability to pivot whenever necessary. I feel everybody on the team has a voice and debates are constructive.
The most memorable feature that we launched and designed from the ground up was the Apple Watch app. In general however, I'm most proud of being able to maintain a consistent design language that is simple, effective, distinct from the competition, and follows each platform's design principles and interface guidelines.
The app industry today is almost completely different than what it was 10 years ago. With Stronglifts I've had front row access to seeing changes and trends shift in the industry, as well as direct access to user feedback. With that access comes a lot of accumulated knowledge and experience.
If I had to single out one takeaway, it would be learning that good design doesn't happen in a vacuum; it's a dynamic process in which you need to be adaptable.
-Adrian, UI Designer
I've been working at Stronglifts as an Android developer for almost 3 years now. What I like the most about this project is that we move at our own pace since we're self-sufficient, which allows for the quality of the code and stability of the app.
Also, the work organization is very straightforward, so once we define tasks we can work on them without interruptions and daily meetings, which I absolutely love - never had that approach before in any company I've worked for.
The team is great, both in terms of communication, friendliness and listening to everyone's input when planning features or changing existing things.
The biggest thing I learned here is how to look at the whole project at all times instead of working on some small part of the app, and not fully understanding the whole scope of the project.
