Job Description
RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Warehouse amp; Operations to join a leading company in the logistics industry based in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing warehouse operations in a fast-paced logistics environment. Your expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, and process improvement will be essential in driving operational excellence. As a Senior Manager, you will also have the opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring that performance goals are met and exceeded.
- Lead and optimize warehouse operations, including inventory management, order processing, and distribution.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and KPIs to measure and track warehouse performance.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance and coaching to achieve operational targets.
- Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve warehouse and logistics operations.
- Monitor and manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service.
Requirements
- A four-year degree from a recognised University in Industrial Engineering or any other relevant qualification.
- 5-8 years' experience and/or working knowledge of logistics systems and processes, productivity standards, and technology.
- Proven track record in driving operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs.
Benefits
- Salary: R400K/yr - R500K/yr, salary negotiable
