A leading Mining Company is looking for an experienced Senior General Manager to be based in the Northern Cape.
You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the mining operations, including strategic planning, operational execution, and financial performance. You will provide leadership and guidance to the mining team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives
- Oversee all aspects of the mining operations, including safety, production, maintenance, and cost control
- Manage and optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective mining operations
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and implement improvement initiatives as needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies
- Lead and mentor a team of mining professionals, providing guidance and support
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements
- BTech / Degree (NQF Level 7) in Mining Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Geology / Metallurgy
- Post Grad / MBA / MBL / Leadership Programme
- GCC (Mines amp; Works)
- 10 years' operational mining experience
- 5 years' senior management experience in the mining environment
