ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the ITHelpdesk Intern is to provide assistance and support for a wide variety of information technology (IT) tasks across a diverse set of network and computer resources. The qualified candidate must be able to expand and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks for a variety of operating systems and provide direct desktop support too ~40 users in our Joburg office.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Provide general user support
- Provide support to the IT systems administrator to Install, configure, and manage Windows, Linux, and Mac desktops and servers, mobile device management as well as network infrastructure
- Keep the asset register , purchase management and support of all office IT infrastructure up to date
- Assist with network administration (e.g. Firewalls, Switches, Wi-Fi)
- Assist in documenting IT procedures
- Assist the IT Systems Administrator to Proactively monitoring and managing the portfolio of Vendors to ensure that they are performing all their contracted responsibilities
- Assist the IT System Administrator with development, deployment and maintenance of container hosts and container dependent applications
- Assist with the development life-cycle from requirements scoping, dev planning, execution, tests, QA and deployment
- Efficiently perform ad hoc task as directed

The ideal candidate has exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be highly focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery and problem-solving; breaking down complex information into understandable and actionable items.
Other qualifications include:
- Relevant BDegree in IT or similar
- Some relevant work experience will be an added advantage
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Gives attention to detail and follows instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient in typing and data entry.
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.
- Establishes goals and works toward achievement.

- Applicant must have highly effective verbal and written communication skills, proven experience working in a team environment, and the ability to complete assignments independently with minimal supervision
