Job Description

Job Purpose

The main objective of the Marketing Assistant is to provide a reliable and efficient service in coordinating the various tasks within the Marketing Department. The Marketing Manager will liaise with the Product Department to identify Suppliers, whereby the Marketing Assistant will then ensure that these Suppliers receive exposure via various advertising mediums, promotions our Social Media Networks, etc. The Marketing Assistant will manage the Mailer Schedule and assist Designers with all E-Mailer/Flyer/Advert proofing.

Key Objectives

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Designers, Digital, and Product Team, to ensure alignment of strategies.
  • Staying up to date with the latest marketing trends.
  • Marketing Campaign Execution: Assisting the Marketing Manager in the execution of specified marketing activations.
  • Manage high volumes of quality, accurate work and meet deadlines while continuously striving to exceed expectations.
  • Analyze the target market of the product/destination to determine the advertising mediums.
  • Brainstorm and coordinate design ideas and themes along with the Marketing Manager and designers for mailers amp; flyers.
  • Manage and Maintain the Mailer Schedule and ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in updating the Social Media Calendar with vital info such as images, package info package links, etc.
  • Build relationships with the Product Team and work closely to keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening within each destination (e.g. promoting destinations where we hold alloc liability etc.).
  • Ensure all top-selling destinations/products continuously receive the required exposure.
  • Take special note of where we hold Override Agreements and ensure that these products receive the required exposure.
  • Submit our Top 10 Deals to Travel Info on a weekly basis and ensure that all info on the dedicated Thompsons Holidays page on the Travel Info website is managed and kept updated at all times.
  • Continuously communicate feedback amp; work progress to the Marketing Manager to eliminate queries and inefficiencies.
  • Assist in monitoring the Thompsons Holidays website for any errors missing links/images and to then notify the Digital Team straight away.

Requirements

  • Travel or Tourism Certificate

Minimum Experience required:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience within a Marketing environment in the travel industry
  • Good Global destination knowledge
  • Excellent computer skills Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook amp; PowerPoint
