Oza Holdings is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Manager to oversee our mining operations. As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials and equipment from suppliers to the site, as well as overseeing the shipping of finished products to customers. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work well under pressure, and be knowledgeable about the mining and metals industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure the smooth movement of materials and equipment from suppliers to the site and the shipping of product from site to port
- Manage the entire supply chain through to final delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers and other departments to ensure adequate supplies are maintained
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
- Manage a team of logistics personnel (planners and administrators), providing leadership and guidance
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with Maintenance planner to minimize down-time and disruption to supply chain
- Ensure reports are provided to HQ in a timely manner
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics management, business administration, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in the mining and metals industry
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of transportation and global shipping regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with inventory management and supply chain optimization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software such as SAP or Oracle
